Many compagnies have emerged in recent years in the field of grammar and spelling correction. The purpose of these various linguistic correction tools is to

"help the user improve their writing skills"

not just at the moment, but in the long term thanks to clean designs and cutting edge technologies. The most popular are those that integrate directly with the user's practice. That is, applications or browser extensions that will communicate with the rest of the tools on the user's computer and facilitate its use. Among them we can mention Grammarly which is extremely present in SEO and marketing.

Who's the user of Ginger Premium?
(here's a biography of one user type)

"As a young freelancer, I work with different companies remotely and some of my contacts are English-speaking. Not being a native, I need a trustworthy tool that I can use simply to write my emails, communicate on my various social networks, etc.

I use Ginger because it is quick to learn and very reliable.


I can write my text so that the app corrects me almost instantly. I also have access to reformulation proposals to adapt the tone of my message. I use the app in its premium version year round, the price is veerry interesting for the use I have of the app."

PRODUCT REVIEW

Main points to improve

More design coherence :

In the app there was some issues with the colors coherences.

Be more intuitive :

Some options weren't clear enough to use the app without any explanation.

Need for a richer onboarding :

The animation is clear and fun but there wasn't any more explanation, what about the others options ?

No personalisation or real profile :

The profile was maybe too light, and the user cannot do anything to "own" the app on his computer.

FEATURES PROPOSITION

One feature = One color :

People automatically see the link between icons/elements of the same color.

Flat Icons and Design :

The flat design is more intuitive and accessible (95% of people doesn't respond well to skeumorphism design).

Clearer onboarding for a better use :

Add one or two steps to the onboarding to show the importants features (not just the shortcurt).

Share the feelings not just the words :

When the user want to "rephrase" a sentence a feeling should appear next to the propositions.
